Help us THANK our AMAZING teachers at SMS!!

Want to thank a teacher and let them know just how much you appreciate them but not sure how?

PFC Hospitality would like to recognize all of the hard-working teachers at SMS by having food, snacks, goodies and cards in the Staff Room next week for Teacher Appreciation. If you want to and you are able, come to the office to drop off your treats and we will set them up in the Teacher Staff Room.

Not able to come to school? Email your teacher and let them know how you feel. We feel so lucky to have such a dedicated and hard-working teaching staff and we appreciate them for all they do! Let's shower them with love and appreciation next week!

Hospitality Reps,

Beverly and Kathy

Free Online Tutoring Opportunity Available!

At last the opportunity to receive academic assistance has come FREE and available to all middle schoolers. At EaseTutoring provides academic support to assist students with the subjects they feel are the most challenging. Despite the quarantine and the closure of schools we offer on-on-one aid with students through a video call. Each tutor will have a prepared agenda based on the student’s identified need. An initial intake survey will help pair the student with an appropriate tutor to support their area of need. This once a week meeting provides a student the time necessary to review the support provided as well as determine what support they need for the next tutoring session. A time and day for the meeting will be decided and agreed upon in advance to fit the needs of both our tutors as well as the hard-working students.

This tutoring program also provides volunteer work for the instructors which for Juniors is essential. In this state of the pandemic many of the opportunities that previous Highschoolers were able to capitalize on have been closed down or discontinued for the time being. In our current situation, our primary goal is to provide academic support to students, foster friendships, and simultaneously give back to our community during these difficult and unprecedented times.

Below is a link to a questionnaire which will allow us to collect information about the interested students and pair them with a tutor that would make a great fit. Our hope is that At Ease Tutoring will provide students with the academic support they need to be successful while simultaneously investing in themselves and their future. We hope you will consider taking advantage of this opportunity, we can’t wait to see you soon.
