For The Betterment of Our Students!
Hello Main Street Family!
Thank you to all who attended report card conferences! If you did not attend, contact your child's teacher.
I hope your students in grades 3-5 took the opportunity during their time off to work on their Science fair projects. Students in grades 3-5 are required to complete a Science fair project. Students in grades K-3 will participate in a classroom Science Fair project.
Our Science fair will take place Thursday, February 16, 2023. Students in Grades 3-5 will advance to the CUSD Science Fair Thursday, February 23, 2023. This year's theme is Sustainability.
Main Street will be represented as students compete in both the Chester City Heritage Bowl and the district wide Spelling Bee! The Heritage Bowl is a friendly competition where students are quizzed on African American and Chester history. See the flyers below for full details!
Thank you for allowing us to educate your children!
Have a great weekend!
Friday is Superbowl Spirit Day!
The Philadelphia Eagles are going to the Superbowl! We are rooting for the home team! On Friday, February 10th, come dressed in your Eagles shirts or Eagles colors!
Chiefs fans may wear their team's shirts.
Eagles and Chiefs shirts only!
I have been contacted by the Upland Borough Police Department with the following concerns:
- Parent crossing their children on Main Street typically from Castle Avenue, into the flow of traffic
- Parents crossing their children at 6th Street across to McClintock Drive
I am encouraging who drop their children off, to park on Main Street south facing 6th Street to avoid crossing traffic ways.
Please be advised: Effective Tuesday, January 17, 2023, police will be enforcing pedestrian laws on Main Street and parents are not to cross the roadway against traffic.
The safety of our students, parents and families are our utmost concern!
Free Parent Workshop! Dinner will be served!
CUSD Technology Usage
Parents and Guardians:
Chromebooks or other technological devices are sent home with students to complete assignments on asynchronous days. These devices must be used to complete assignments given by your child's teacher or teachers. Students may not download games, wallpapers or participate in video group discussions. Please monitor your children to ensure they are not using their devices to participate in any of the above activities. Improper use of technology could result in the student losing privileges of using the school's device.
All students must report to school in uniform everyday!
All adults interested in assisting our students, must submit a child abuse clearance form. You may obtain this document by clicking the link below:
Car Line
Parents:
Please refrain from making u turns in the car line during dismissal. The safety of our children and parents is of utmost importance to us. We would like to move the cars through the line without any disruptions.
