Class of 2022 Graduation Information
Time: 6pm for family and friends. Seniors must arrive by 5pm
Location: Empower Field at Mile High Stadium - 1701 Bryant St, Denver, CO 80204
Seniors will be given 8 tickets each. All guests must have a ticket to enter due to limited seating. Children sitting on laps do not need a ticket.

Chromebook Collection
We are planing to collect all computers from 6th-8th graders starting from May 17th.
Seniors should return their Chromebooks by May 13th to IT department.
Chromebooks for 9th-11th graders will be locked on May 27th.
HS students who are not returning next school year should return their Chromebooks to IT department on May 18th.
All stickers (except LSE stickers, like tag number or factory stickers) should be removed and cleaned.
Promotion Policy Is In Effect for Next Year
Be aware that students must meet the credit requirements in order to be promoted to the next grade level. Per the Secondary Promotion Policy (Student Handbook Page 10-11):
To be enrolled in Grade 10, a student must have a minimum of 6 units of credit, including at least 3 units in core classes (English, Math, Science or Social Studies).
To be enrolled in Grade 11, a student must have a minimum of 12 units of credit, including at least 6 units in core classes (English, Math, Science or Social Studies).
To be enrolled in Grade 12, a student must have a minimum of 19 units of credit, including at least 10 units in core classes (English, Math, Science or Social Studies).
Students at risk in high school have been notified and had a letter to take home. If you are concerned about your student not passing, please contact their teachers or their counselor, Mrs. Brauhn BBrauhn@lotusschool.org
Interested in Summer School?
Summer School will be offered in-person, in the school building, at no cost to you. Students will attend Math and Literacy classes for 3 weeks, from June 2 until June 23. Students will be in the building from 8:00 until 12:45 Monday through Friday. Breakfast and lunch will be served at no cost to students. All CDC guidelines will be in effect during Summer School. Students are required to wear a mask in the building. Due to capacity limitations, summer school enrollment will be based on a first come first serve basis. Students must be in attendance daily.

WHEN TO KEEP YOUR STUDENT HOME FROM SCHOOL
Students who show COVID-like illness and have major symptoms that last longer than 24
hours and minor symptoms that last more than 48 hours, should get tested and isolate at home for 5 days before they can return to school.
Major symptoms:
New or unexplained persistent cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Loss of Taste and Smell
Minor Symptoms:
Fever >100, Chills
Sore Throat
Runny nose or congestion
Muscle or body aches
Headache
Fatigue
Nausea, vomiting, Diarrhea

Attendance Line
Please call your student in on the attendance line at x300 if they are going to be absent. Daily notices will be emailed to parents regarding when to return when you student is sick or no reason for absence is recorded. If you have any questions regarding attendance, the Attendance Committee, or any attendance challenge please call ext. 103 for the Attendance Clerk or ext. 230 for the Dean of Student Culture.

LOTUS School for Excellence
Lotus first opened its doors in August 2006 with a total of 147 students in grades 6 and 7. Each year after that, its enrollment increased gradually to finally reach over 900 students, with grades spanning from Kindergarten to 12th. In such a diverse and disadvantaged community, for over a decade, Lotus has managed to instill interest in students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Today it is one of the most successful schools in Aurora.
