The EMS Gazette
More News About the Upcoming School Year
Good Morning EMS Families!
Three weeks from now we will be in the middle of our first week of school. August 30th is closing in on us!
As promised, I am back to share more important information about our upcoming school year.
Open House
Families may join us during the time slots below. Students will receive a copy of their schedule and have the opportunity to walk through the building with their families to find their classes for the first day of school. This will not be a time for individual conferences but a time to help ease students' anxiety so they know where their classrooms are located and have a face to match their teachers' names.
Please join us during your designated time below: We look forward to seeing you.
- 8:30-9:30 - Students with last names that start with A - G
- 10:30-11:30 - Students with last names that start with H-P
- 1:30-2:30 - Students with last names that start with Q-Z
Student Vaccines During Open House!
During our open house event, students 12 years of age and older, can receive a COVID vaccine right at Easton Middle School. We will have staff available from the Health Department for any family that is interested. Come pick up your schedule, meet your teacher, and get vaccinated if you're interested - its called one-stop shopping!
School Hours
Dismissal is at 2:25 PM. We will start dismissing the walkers and car riders first followed by the bus students. More specifics about this procedure will be shared in our EMS Family Headquarters in another newsletter.
School Supplies
I am sharing our school supply list once again. We are trying to keep it simple this year.
Students' Schedules
Stay Tuned...
Just like last year, we will continue enhanced cleaning measures. TCPS is using three-foot distancing when possible however, in full transparency, this is very difficult for EMS since we are a larger school with limited space. At this time, masks have not been mandated but are highly recommended; however, this may change. We are watching this closely to see if we receive guidance from the CDC or the local health department. Wearing a mask may be uncomfortable but if it means that we can safely have all of my students back in the building 5 days a week, they may be necessary.
Let's just hope for a healthy, safe, and normal school year!
