Bruneau-Grand View School District
UPDATE: Community support and feedback
Response to Covid-19
We were hopeful that Covid-19 would be in our rearview mirror for this school year, but it is not and it appears it will be sticking around for a while. Our Board-approved plan for response has been to shift to online learning when we have positive cases and high levels of close contact in our school population. We do this to "pump the brakes" on the spread of Covid in an attempt to keep our students in school as much as possible. We have heard from our community that they do not want mandates regarding masks and vaccinations. We hear you! We support you! Unless a statewide mandate is issued by Governor Little, we plan to continue to support your wishes. We welcome students and staff to wear masks if they feel the need. We welcome your choice to get vaccinated, wash hands often, use sanitizer, self quarantine if sick, avoid large group gatherings, and any other measures you feel are important for you and your family. Please communicate with us if you have a sick student missing school so that we can support learning remotely, as necessary. We will continue to supply a sanitized school facility, hand sanitizer, hand washing facilities, masks, and the opportunity for students to social distance. In the event that a school must move to online learning, our teachers are prepared to support your students at home. Hopefully, we won't need to go any longer than a few days, but we are prepared for all contingencies. We appreciate your feedback and the strong partnership this community has with us. Please contact teachers for individual student information and school or district administration if you have questions regarding policy.
