Welcome back from Spring Break! Spring is here with all the rain and flowers starting to bloom. Rain boots, rain jackets, and rain suits will come in handy the rest of this month, along with a change of clothes for those muddy days of learning and play.

I hope you had time to read, play and relax during break. Some of you might have had the chance to get away also; I did! Breaks are a great way to recharge. I sent home a Spring Break Reading calendar before the break; please do not forget to turn it in this week for a special prize! Thank you parents for encouraging your child to read every day. Remember, Readers are Leaders!

Students enjoyed picking out several FREE books during March is Reading Month! Thank you to Mrs. Page for securing funds for this special event this year! Thank you also goes to Mrs. Stivers for creating the calendar for dress-up days in March; we all had fun wearing some cool stuff. Also, in March, we were grateful for volunteers coming in to read to the students. The volunteers included parents, grandparents, alumni, state representatives (past & present), a previous board member, and community members. We enjoyed hearing them read books they had connections to and why they chose them. We even got to meet some extra guests (a dog, a niece, and a grandson). Thank you to everyone who made March an extraordinary month!

The next couple of months are going to fly right by! We have many events planned, including M-Step testing for Upper Elementary students. Please check your Dojo messages often along with email. More information to come as we get closer.

Remember, April showers bring May flowers!

Sincerely,

Jamie Walle
