February 2018

Inspiring and Empowering Every Student to Thrive Every Day

Dear Family,

What a great start to 2018! Although December was a difficult time for many because of the Thomas Fire, we are off to a great start in 2018. Many people have asked if the days missed in December will need to be made up at the end of the year. They will not, because it was considered a disaster.

The month of February is a short but sweet one. This month many classes will be celebrating Valentines Day. Your child's teacher will be in touch if they will be having a party. Also, there is a long weekend for Presidents' Day.

Our sixth graders will be having an eventful month! There is a field trip to visit our local Middle School, E.O. Green on Thursday, February 22nd. They will be at science camp at the Pali Institute February 26th-28th.

Have a wonderful, safe February!

Tardies

Please make every effort to make sure your child arrives on time. When students are late they miss important beginning of the day routines. Also, they have to go to the office for a tardy slip which makes them more late. Often they feel uncomfortable entering the class late, because it interrupts. Thank you for helping your child develop a life-long habit of being on time. Attendance really matters!

Science Fair

There will be no Science Fair this year. We will be having a Family Science Night in the spring. Details will be coming in the future! Thank you!

Yearbook

Photos of school activities are needed for the yearbook. If you have any that you would like to share, please email hbsannualphotos@gmail.com. In the subject line, please include the teacher's name, grade, and a short description of the event. Thank you!
