Human Trafficking Session
You’re Invited.
You are invited to a very special global event designed to highlight some very important information about how our children are impacted by human trafficking due to 3 very important risk factors.
A Very Important Question
Would you want to know if human trafficking was changing in ways which are creating new risks/threats/exposures for the children who matter to you? Human trafficking is extremely dynamic, and as such, it has infiltrated our worlds in ways that place greater risk in places and people who you probably consider safe.
YOU WILL LEARN
· What new risks, threats, and exposures schools need to address
· Why many trafficking victims are NOT abducted (and still attend school)
· Surprising facts about who has been arrested for human trafficking
· Why the term “stranger danger” is no longer relevant
· Changes in trafficking which means all children have some risk
· A simple “Lifeline” every child needs to know
· One simple strategy which will render a trafficker’s deception useless
· How to teach a child 3 ft. tall the power they have over predators 6 ft. tall
Why Are You Being Invited
We believe you have a clear stake in this issue, and that you recognize both personal and professional reasons to gain valuable insight about human trafficking of youth. This is a great opportunity for you to learn and meet delegates in law enforcement, criminal justice and human rights from 17 nations around the world.
There is a significant amount of planning and preparation in progress. It is imperative that as quickly as possible we have your RSVP to plan for table setup and arrangement.

Halloween Safety
Halloween is one of the most dangerous days of the year for youth pedestrians with regard to traffic accidents. The Penn State Hershey Medical Center has developed this interactive infographic, which includes reminders for keeping kids safe as they participate in Halloween events that involve dressing up in costumes.
Teal Pumpkin Project
Using non-food rewards is a good practice with all kids, but it is especially important for kids who suffer from allergies. Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) offers many free resources for their Teal Pumpkin Project® (TPP). The teal-colored pumpkin lets trick-or-treaters know that you have non-food treats. See A Guide to Non-Food Halloween Treats infographic for ideas. Add your home to the TPP Participation Map, if you decide to display a teal pumpkin and offer non-food treats.

Even though the module appears to be addressing bus drivers and bus monitors, it is still basic first aid/CPR that anyone can benefit from. It does not certify you like when you take first aid from the Red Cross, but you do get a certificate of completion at the end.
Diabetes Resource Guide
The purpose of the guide is to connect individuals with diabetes to services and programs within the community. It was developed by Humana, the American Diabetes Association, along with many community partners. It is an excellent resource and definitely would be great to share with families. Below is a link to the guide along with a link to an article in Business Wire discussing the guide.
