Community Character Recognition Event:

If your child earned Student of the Month for Character for the month of April, May, August, or September, they will be recognized at the KNHS Varsity Football game on October 8th. Families will receive free admission to the game. Please be there by 6:20!

Upcoming Dates for KNHS:

Wednesday, October 6th - UCM College Rep to visit during Panther Hour - students must sign up through the Google Form sent to him/her through email.

Tuesday, October 12th - College Fair opportunity for Juniors and Seniors who sign up to attend. This will be held at UCM in the multi-purpose building from 9 - 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday, Oct 13th - PSAT Testing - around 35 sophomores and juniors who signed up and paid will test in the gym from 8 a.m until at least noon

Tuesday, October 19th - Signs of Suicide - we will adjust the school bell schedule for that day; the SOS lesson will be from 7:55 a.m. - 9 a.m.; more information to follow soon

Friday, October 22nd - Financial Aid Literacy presentation by College Connections representative. This presentation will be in the cafeteria during Panther Hour. Students must sign up through a Google Form. This form will be sent a couple weeks prior to the presentation. Keep checking your email.

Tuesday, Nov 16th - ASVAB - all juniors will test in the gym from 8 a.m. until noon

- ASVAB interpretation - all seniors who took the ASVAB will be in the gym in the afternoon.

Thursday, December 9th - Algebra I EOC testing for A+ students needing qualifying score; location and time to be determined.

Seniors - Post-secondary planning in ELA classes on Oct 25th and 26th

Sophomores - November 19th in ELA classes

Freshmen - November 12th in ELA classes

*KNHS school counselors visited juniors and seniors during the last week of August to discuss ICAPs and transcripts

Military Recruiters - we have arranged for every Monday to have a recruiter available during lunch. This starts October 4th.

1st Monday of each month - Army

2nd Monday of each month - Marines

3rd Monday of each month - National Guard

4th Monday of each month - TBD

Parents - please know students receive emails quite regularly from school counselors about many opportunities such as scholarship information, dual credit, college placement tests, college representatives to visit and military recruiters etc.
