As you know, the Oakland County Health Department has lifted the mask mandate effective on February 28th. On Monday, your Husky can attend school mask-free or masked. Please understand that the choice is yours; however, we will not tolerate any unkindness to students who choose to wear a mask. Some parents have expressed anxiety around their child getting teased about mask wearing. As Huskies, we must be respectful and be accepting of others' choices. Power of the Pack!

PTO "Thank You"

A huge "THANK YOU" to the PTO, and especially Angie Cryderman, for providing lunch for the staff on Wednesday for parent/teacher conferences! We appreciate all that the PTO does for us! It's great to be a Husky!

Robocalls

Several families have notified us that they have not received robocalls. The calls go to the primary contact in Skyward. If you are not receiving the calls, please check that Skyward has your correct phone number. Thank you!

Annual Education Report

Our Annual Education Report for the 2020-2021 school year can be found on our website. If you desire a hard copy, they are available in the office. We are so proud of our academic performance last year. Even in a pandemic, our Huskies outperformed the national norm! Dare to be remarkable!

With March just around the corner, it is time to get ready to ‘blast off’ with March is Reading Month. This year’s theme is: Reading Takes You Out of this World! Of course, this is the time for our students to show their top reading skills! There will be several specifically themed dress down days (check the attached calendar for these), as well as out of this world activities for students to participate in. Below are a few highlights:

Book of the Day -

  • Every child in the school will have a chance to win a free book.

  • Winners will be announced daily.

Guest Readers –

  • This includes volunteer parents (one per class, per day).

  • If interested, please contact your student’s teacher and he/she will communicate with the office to get this arranged.

Commercial Poster Contest -

  • Make a brief video advertising March is Reading Month

  • Three winners will be chosen:

    • one from Y5’s-2nd

    • one from 3rd-5th

    • one from 6th-8th

  • Winners will receive a $20 Amazon gift card to buy books

Student Poster Contest -

  • Students can design a colorful poster on an 8 1/2 x 11” sheet of paper and must advertise the theme in a creative way.

  • Three winners will be chosen:

    • one from 6th-8th

  • Winning posters will be hung in each building during the months of March and April.

Read-A-Thon Day-

  • All ELA classes participate in reading, all day, on March 24th!

Lastly, at the end of the month, the top readers will be determined and invited to a celebration breakfast in April. This is a great time to encourage your student/s to read 20+ minutes per night! Dare to Be Remarkable!
