Chávez Cheetah Chat
Cheetah Chat for 8/17/2023
Enrolling students, school supplies, important dates and more!
Hello Chávez Families,
I hope you are all well and managing the heat and the smoke. It is better today and looks to improve as we go into the weekend. We are busy here at school, cleaning up after summer school, preparing materials, waxing the floors and preparing the school grounds to be ready in a couple of weeks to welcome back all our kids for a great year of learning and growth.
Our office opens next week on Wednesday. We will have enrollment packets available for pick up. If you have friends, family or neighbors with kids who are heading to Chávez for the first time, kindergarten or otherwise, please have them call the school to learn about enrolling. The office number is 541) 790-5300.
Information about enrollment can be found at https://chavez.4j.lane.edu/kinder-enrollment-2/
If your child has attended Chávez and nothing has changed, you do NOT need to complete any paperwork at this time.
We can't wait to welcome our new and returning students and families.
With Gratitude and Enthusiasm,
Principal Kevin

Early Release on WEDNESDAYS. Chávez will Release at 1:10 p.m. every Wednesday
All 4J schools will release early on Wednesdays instead of Fridays starting this fall to support collaboration among our educators.
Early-release days on Wednesdays will best support the new schedule that 4J high schools will follow starting this fall. In addition, comments from educators indicated that dedicated time for professional development and collaboration is more impactful during the middle of the workweek rather than at its end. Early-release times will remain unchanged.
Understanding the importance to families of having consistent school schedules, the change to a Wednesday early-release day will apply to all schools.
