Progress Reports...Now What?
On Friday, October 15, students received their quarter 1 progress reports during Advisory. This
is a great opportunity for students to begin reflecting on their year so far and ask themselves
some questions about their academic performance, behavior, and attendance:
• Have you been absent or tardy from class? If so, how can you improve your attendance for the remainder of the quarter? Remember, absences impact a student’s credits. If you have questions about tardies/absences, check in with Ms. Boudreau or Ms. Maguire in room 222.
• Have you been prepared for class every day? If not, why? How can you improve this?
• Have you been completing assignments on time?
• How did you keep track of your work? Did it work?
• What went well so far in Quarter 1? What would you like to improve upon?
Students are encouraged to access the resources below for extra help and support:
Math and Writing Labs - Mr. Nazarchuk (Math Lab) and Ms. Palmer (Writing Lab) are available during the school day. Here, students can receive extra help on assignments, review for upcoming assessments, and review topics they may be struggling with.
Teachers - Students are encouraged to set up a time to meet with their teacher to review their work, ask questions, and get extra help. Some teachers have regular extra help times while others ask that students schedule a time to meet.
Tutoring - Tutoring is available before and after school in the library. Tutoring is staffed by a current WHS teacher and will soon include National Honor Society peer tutors. Students are welcome to drop into tutoring at any time or reach out to their school counselor or teacher for help getting connected to a tutor. Tutors are available before school on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings and after school on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
