Message From the Principals
Greetings TLA Family!
We were able to visualize our Trusting Community value in action this week. Whether it was our Character Strong lessons, playing in they gym or on the playground together, or working with partners and small groups in the classrooms, scholars and staff alike were supporting each other and helping each other out. We can't wait to see how these relationships and academic connections help move our scholars ahead. Keep it up Lions!!!

If interested, please fill out the form in Skyward' Family Access, or the form can be filled out electronically with the following links:

School Uniform Orders
Orders placed before the start of school must be picked up by September 13th or they will be cancelled. Any remaining unpaid orders will be returned to inventory. Please call the school office if you have any questions.
PE Uniform Update
We are aware that some PE uniform orders have not yet been filled and that some scholars may not have their PE uniform for their first PE class. Due to this unforeseen delay, the older blue version of the PE uniform will be acceptable for this school year.
Please note we have secured a new community partner to supply our PE uniforms. All previously placed orders with Wright World Sports will be fulfilled, and we are confident scholars who have not yet received their PE uniform order will shortly.
If you have not yet ordered a PE uniform for your scholar, you may do so here. If you have any questions or concerns regarding an order you have placed, please contact JeanMarie.McKearn@TLABeloit.com. Thank you for your patience as we continue to put children first in every decision we make.
Snacks Reminder
As we begin the new school year we wanted to remind families that scholars are responsible for bringing their own snacks. Elementary School scholars have scheduled snack times in their classrooms and Middle & High School scholars can snack during passing time.
Keeping snacks healthy and our lockers, classrooms and hallways clean is important as we continue to take pride in ourselves and our beautiful building!!
School Breakfast & Lunch Information
Scholars have been utilizing the beautiful new cafeteria space for breakfast and lunch already but this upcoming week, hot breakfasts & lunches will start!!
If you'd like to see the menu for breakfast or lunch, please follow this link. As a general reminder, breakfast and lunches are free but there are also a la carte items available for purchase. Click here to see those options/prices. Money can be added to scholar accounts via e-funds or at the TLA main office.
Durham Bus Service
Keep track of your scholar(s) and their bus this school year. Durham School Services has an app to provide families with a greater sense of comfort and security. The app allows you to view your scholar's current school bus location and information about the route in real-time, including the scheduled arrival time at your home. To use the app, users will create an account when launching the app that is tied to an email address of the user’s choice. You will need to obtain your scholar’s “Other ID” from Skyward by clicking on the “Student Info” tab on your scholar’s Skyward account. The app is simple, safe and secure.
Click here to download the app and get more information.Announcements

Attendance Corner
“Parents and families are essential partners in promoting good attendance because they have the bottom-line responsibility for making sure their children get to school everyday. Just as parents should focus on how their children are performing academically, they have a responsibility to set expectations for good attendance.” (Source: attendanceworks.org)
At TLA, attendance is one of our top priorities, and we want you to know that we are in this TOGETHER. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s attendance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Message From the Deans
Mr. Anderson
Mr. Cieplewski
Hello TLA Families,
Here at TLA we know that it is best for scholars to be in school in order to receive the best instruction and reach their fullest potential. Our goal is that at minimum 95% of scholars are at school each day. This means that a maximum of two (2) scholars can be gone on any given day from each homeroom. We have started off strong this 23-24 school year but we also know that The Flu, Cold, and COVID are still factors, so please make sure your scholar practices healthy eating and sleeping habits and also washing their hands.
Thank you families for all of your support. Let's have a great year.
