We Want YOU! PTA Board Members for 2019-2020!
Want to get more involved at Trillium Creek? Take on a different volunteer role? Be creative and make a difference in your child’s school? TCPS PTA has THE opportunity for you! Every year we vote in a PTA Board- President, Vice President(s), Treasurer(s), Secretary, and Advisor. We will have returning Board Members, but are in need of a Treasurer, and a Secretary as these Board Members’ 2-year terms have, sadly, come to an end. Please contact PTA President, Christy Riehm, or any other Board Member to get more information. We are not your stereotypical PTA Board, we are not scary, and we actually get along and have fun! We have a lot of cool ideas for next year and want you to be a part of it! A conversation does not equal a commitment so feel free to just inquire. Thank you for considering to serve!
Vision Screening at TCPS is Tuesday March 12th
School Health Services in conjunction with Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation will be holding vision screening at Trillium Creek Primary on Tuesday March 12, 2019 beginning at 8:00 AM.
If your child wears glasses or contacts, please be sure they wear them on vision screening day. You will be notified only if a more comprehensive eye exam is recommended. If you do not want your child to participate in vision screening, please send an opt out note to your student’s teacher the day of screening.
If you have old glasses that you want to recycle please send them into school on vision screening day and the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation will put them to good use.
MAP-Music and Arts Partners
Just one dollar can make a difference……and each one goes to your school! In the next few days an envelope will come home with your student to donate to the "Dollars for the Arts" campaign.
March is National Music in our Schools month and Youth Art Month and the 20th Annual “Dollars for the Arts” campaign to help support the arts in our school district. Since 1995, WL-WV Music and Arts Partners (MAP) has returned over $900,000 to our schools, the middle school musical, strings programs and scholarships for graduating seniors. MAP is a volunteer, non-profit organization working to promote arts education in our school district.
Trillium Creek’s campaign is March 11th through March 20th. Each year MAP returns 100% of the dollars raised during this campaign back to Trillium Creek!
Please return your “$ for the Arts” envelope! The class with the highest percentage of returned envelopes will receive an additional music class with Mr. Compton!
All contributions are tax deductible per our non-profit 501(c)(3) status. MAP will provide tax receipts for all contributions of $50.00 or more. Checks should be written to: Music and Arts Partners. Please include on the check note line: "MAP Dollars for the Arts at TCPS.”
Thank you!

Oregon Assessment Information for 2018-2019
Please see the attached information if you want to know more about Oregon's 2018-2019 English Language Arts and Mathematics Assessments and for the form for opting out of assessments. The form is attached to the bottom of the Tweet.
For all other statewide assessments (OSAS Online Science, ELPA Summative, the Kindergarten Assessment, and the ORExt Science Assessment), parents may request that their student be exempted from state testing based on either disability or religion. OAR 581-022-1910 allows school districts to excuse students from a state required program or learning activity, including state testing, to accommodate a student’s disabilities or religious beliefs. In order for a school district to excuse a student from testing under this rule, the student’s parent must submit a written request to the school district, listing the reasons for the request and proposing an alternative individualized learning activity for the student that meets the same goals that would be accomplished by participation in state testing.
