UCAS Weekly Update
May 12, 2020
Message from Administration
Dear UCAS parents and students:
As this school year comes to a close, we want to thank our parents for the incredible support you have shown to us, as a school. This has been a historic year that has handed us a number of unexpected challenges, and you have been unwaivering in your support of UCAS. We have asked a lot from our teachers and students in making a transition to online learning, and we are proud of the efforts that have been given from both groups. We know this has been a challenge for parents, as well. Thank you for your patience and understanding, for your positivity in supporting your student/s. We can say that we survived this school year admirably! It saddens and disappoints us that we cannot see students in our classrooms and hallways, and we are not yet able to gather in large groups. Still, we look forward to the time when we can come together again!
Our Yearbook order has been delayed again, because of the covid 19 situation, so we will be sending out information to you again, when we are given a firm delivery date. We hope that you will join us in our Virtual end of year Talent share and awards assembly tomorrow, Thursday, May 14th at 2:00, and on Friday, May 15th at 2:00 for our Virtual graduation ceremony. Both events can be found on this link to our UCAS Youtube station: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxs0UnB1TOyOQwgOzKbsLWA
All the best for a safe and enjoyable summer break!
Mrs. Derbidge and Ms. Weeks
We still have several yearbooks available for purchase. Please call in to the main office of UCAS in Orem or Provo to order and pay for yours!
Yearbook delivery has been postponed due to the current health crisis. Our publisher, Josten’s has informed us that yearbook delivery has been delayed again. We hope to be able to hold a yearbook distribution in July.

Bitbybit conference: Free Virtual tech conference for girls!
What's Bit by Bit all about?
Bit by Bit is a conference for high school girls, devoted to bringing together girls interested in computer science. Why? We believe that by gathering successful women with experiences to share, we can ensure that the female coders, entrepreneurs, and leaders of the future are prepared in an industry in which women are underrepresented.
Join us at our digital conference, premiering on May 23rd, 2020, to hear from our inspiring keynote speakers: Anne Aaron, Director of Encoding Technologies at Netflix, and Rana el Kaliouby, Co-founder and CEO of Affectiva. Spend the remainder of the day hearing your questions about computer science in different areas answered by our panelists, hearing about mentors' experiences working in computer science, getting hands on experience in workshops, and learning about future opportunities to pursue computer science. End the day with a greater understanding of the tech world!
