Happy September!
What a great end to the 2022 fair season as we wrapped it up with the 2022 Nebraska State Fair! Congratulations to all of the exhibitors on an outstanding year. You made Webster County 4-H proud! We hope that school is off to a great start for students, staff, and parents. Now bring on fall!

- September 6th: Office staff will be picking up static exhibits from state fair
- September 9th: All state fair static exhibits must be picked up from the office

Webster County 4-H Achievement Awards
It is the time of year to think about your past 4-H year and apply for the County Awards! Attached is the application. The application is due Monday, October 3rd. It may be turned in by:
- Using the Adobe Fillable Forms and saved as a PDF. Submit the document to Alexa (alexa.pedersen@unl.edu). Please submit with the File Name of: Youth’sFirstName LastName 2022Webster.
- Printed hard copy dropped off to the Webster County Extension Office by 4:30 pm.
No pictures of the completed application will be accepted.
The Webster County Extension Office is here to help you with any questions you have. You may set up an individual help session or email questions to Beth, Katie, or Alexa. Additionally, we are going to offer an “Awards Help Session via Zoom” on Tuesday, September 27th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Join for 5 minutes or the entire time. Please look for the Zoom link when it is closer to the date.
The County Medal and Award Winners will be announced during the 4-H Achievement Celebration that is set for Sunday, November 6th at Blue Hill Community Center beginning at 5:30 pm. More details on the Achievement Celebration will be coming in October.

Beth Janning
4-H Youth Development Extension Educator in Adams/Webster Counties
Beth Janning is a 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator. She provides programming in school enrichment, after-school, and traditional 4-H Programs. Her topic areas include but not limited to animal science, science, engineering and volunteer development.

Dr. Lindsay Waechter-Mead
Beef Systems Educator, DVM
Lindsay Waechter-Mead is the new Beef Systems Educator in Webster County and serves surrounding counties in this region. She is excited to bring her interests surrounding cow/calf health and preventative medicine to the Beef Team. Her current work involves looking at environmental effects on neonatal calf immunity and colostral transfer. She is also passionate about rural agriculture and what the veterinary profession can do to positively influence rural communities to ensure that generations can continue to enjoy the life that she loves.
