Diamond View School- Reopening

August 2020

Welcome Back!

It's hard to believe we are finally ramping up for the start of the new year, and even harder to believe it's been almost five months since we've seen you inside these walls! We hope you were able to take the opportunity the last few months to spend some quality family time together and perhaps dust off some of those activities you haven't done in a while.

We are beyond excited to welcome students and families back to Diamond View. We know there are many questions and concerns, and this newsletter certainly won't address them all, so please feel free to reach out anytime.

We look forward to seeing you again!

Our Theme

Our theme this year and our new slogan is PANTHERS FIRST.

During our COVID-19 shutdown in April/May of 2020 many of our teachers participated in a Book Study reading together a book called WIN TIME. We set out with an idea that this book would lead us down a scheduling path, but it evolved into so much more. We ended up rewriting our Vision and Mission statement to align closer to the Susanville School District's Vision and the enthusiasm, passion, and commitment of our staff. Then we combined both our Vision and Mission into the catchy slogan of PANTHERS FIRST.

School Safety Updates for 2020-2021

ASB Student Council

This year will be unlike any other and students will be learning and adapting to an ever-changing learning environment. Now more than ever, students will need to develop skills that will help them support and serve each other. We have some creative ideas to bring spirit to our school with the restrictions and guidelines in place.

We will be looking for students to be elected to serve on our ASB Cabinet and we will also be electing an ASB President when we return.

Opportunities will be provided for all of our student body to take part in our games, spirit, activities, etc.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. HP (ahedgespool@susanvillesd.org)
