Our Cross Country Team is off to a great start!

The first Cross Country meet of the year was held on September 19. Our girls all had amazing finishes, including running down runners to improve their placement at the end! With only 4 girls on the team, all of their places count for our team total. We finished in 4th place for the first meet of the year. The boys also did well, finishing in 3rd place overall in a tough division - with one of our eighth grade students coming in at an impressive 3rd place!

FJVD runners also had a successful second meet this past Wednesday! Our boys placed 3rd again, with our top runners coming in 3rd, 12th, 19th, 20th! Our girls once again placed 4th, in 15th, 21st, 29th, and 45th places. Special recognition goes out to those who improved their times or places from last week despite the heat: Brian, Nathan, Aidan, & Gavin for the boys. Our newest runner had the biggest improvement - Angie moved up 7 places and shaved 82 seconds off her time for the girls! Way to go, Saints!

Father John V. Doyle School is proud of all of our new runners and we know they will continue to improve! Returning runners track their progress versus previous seasons. Two of our eighth grade boys have already set new personal bests! Coach Blissmer expects this kind of effort to continue and he is looking forward to much improvement throughout the season! He is discussing goals for the season with each runner.

As always, Thank You for your support of Father John V. Doyle School!

Mrs. Jae T. Smith
