Director of Construction Stefanie Phillips provided an update on construction projects throughout the district. Her presentation included construction completed on Oceana and current construction happening at Westmoor and on Staff Housing. Athletics Update

Trustees received an update from the Associate Superintendent of Student Services and Human Resources Dorene Basuino. Ms. Basuino’s presentation, which is located here, was developed with input from the athletic directors at each school site, and included the following:


  • CDPH & CIF Guidelines
  • CIF & PAL Updates
  • Sports Tiers and Transportation
  • Considerations and Options


After discussion, Trustees agreed to consider a plan for participating in Season 2 PAL at the Feb 23rd meeting.

Graduation Requirement Discussion

Graduation Requirement Discussion

In a presentation by Associate Superintendent of Educational Services Kareen Baca, graduation requirements were revisited for the Class of 2020-21. Because of the continued challenges brought forth by COVID-19, the administration would like for the Board of Trustees to discuss additional ways to minimize harm by allowing eligible students to meet graduation requirements using the California Minimum State Requirements.
