A Message from Our Administrators
A huge thank you to our teachers, staff, and PTO for making our outdoor Ice Cream Social fun and entertaining to kick off a wonderful school year ahead. Children are walking the halls excited about classrooms and teachers are getting to know the children at a deep level in order to help them thrive to the best of ability. We are fully under way with our Fountas and Pinnell reading assessments as well as NWEA MAP testing in both reading and math. All students will have completed these assessments by mid September and we anticipate tremendous growth from last year.
Thank you for your continued support at home and being an active member of your child's elementary journey. Our Back to School Nights are now complete and you probably already signed up for conferences come October. If you still need to sign up please communicate directly with your child's teacher as we are looking for 100% participation at BSE. By now you should be aware of a handful of the digital resources available to you as well as our shift in homework beliefs. We encourage you to read, engage in math games, and play daily.
To our Preschool families - we have completed our first full week and the drop off and pick up transitions are running smoothly. Thank you for your patience as we ensure safety and foster independence with all students. A reminder that preschool is now open five days a week which means Fridays are now included.
Below there is a plethora of important information regarding upcoming opportunities and events you don't want to miss such as the Back to School Bash and Picture Day. As always, thank you for your support and we look forward to working with all of our families as partners.
- Mrs. Rich and Dr. Kaminski

If the child is ill, the following information would be helpful to the nurse: type of illness, fever, headache, sore throat, and any diagnosis made by a physician. If a student misses school due to illness, he/she is not allowed to participate in after-school activities, clubs, programs, or practices. REMEMBER, a child must be fever free and/or vomit free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication prior to coming back to school. Please do not depend on a phone call or email to the teacher to report an absence as there may be a substitute, and subs do not have access to the teacher’s voicemail or email.
Appointments!
If your child needs to be released early from school, do not enter this in School Dismissal Manager. Instead, please send a note to the school explaining the reason and time of dismissal. You may also call the office 317-915-4250 before 2:00 pm. Please do not depend on a phone call or email to the teacher to report an absence as there may be a substitute, and subs do not have access to the teacher’s voicemail or email. Your child must be picked up and signed out in the school office. When picking up your child, please have your Driver’s License or other form of photo ID with you.
