WRITE-A-CHECK FUNDRAISER
A fundraiser with a twist, this write-a-check campaign will ensure that 100% of the funds collected benefit our school. Donations help to purchase new and fun supplies to engage students in hands-on learning in science and technology, sports equipment, field-trip scholarships, awards/rewards for student achievements, music and art supplies and much more! All donations will be recognized in our weekly school newsletter. Any amount would be greatly appreciated, but below are some suggested dollar amounts and examples of items it could purchase for your child’s classroom:

Run with the Vikings Next Week!
All PK-5th grade (LVES and LVIS) students are invited to participate in the Running of The Vikings before all home games. Students will need to line up on the north end of the field (by the Viking tunnel) at 6:50 pm to be ready to run when the players leave the field (approx. 7:00 pm). The first Running of The Vikings will be next Friday Night!

Notes from the Office
We encourage independence here at Lago Vista Intermediate School, and encourage your student to know how they are supposed to get home at the end of the school day. However, if your student's mode of transportation is changing, i.e. from car to bus or bus to car, our staff needs to be made aware of that change.

Do your know about TXConnect?
Lago Vista ISD utilizes an online parent portal, TxConnect, which allows parents and students to view grades and attendance online.
You will need to complete a two-step process to create a new account by following these simple instructions:
Step One: • Visit the TxConnect home page: https://txsuite.esc13.net/tc227912/Login.aspx • On the TxConnect home page, click on “New TxConnect User”. • You will need your child(ren)’s student portal ID Number in order to complete the process. Portal IDs may be obtained from your campus registrar.
Step Two: • On the summary page click on the blue “settings” button. • Click on the “register" button. If you receive an error message regarding your email address, please contact your campus registrar. • Once you have successfully entered your email address and entered the code sent to your email, check the “request electronic report cards and IPR”.
Once you have successfully created an account, TxConnect will keep you informed of your child’s performance by automatically alerting you of unexcused absences and failing averages or assignment grades. You will receive these alert notifications with the email address you provided when you set up your account. You may also customize alerts to your own specifications.

How to Report Bullying or Other Safety Concerns
Lago Vista ISD uses StayALERT to help keep our schools safe. StayALERT is a bilingual, confidential website, e-mail, phone and texting avenue for students, teachers, staff, parents and community members to be able to confidentially report unsafe behaviors, suspicious activities, bullying, acts of violence, harassment, and a host of other potential disruptors to school safety.
Users may anonymously report concerns 24-7-365 via the StayALERT website, an e-mail, a phone call to a recorded and monitored line, or via a text message from a cell phone. Photos and video clips pertaining to the StayALERT report may be included. No special app required! Reportable information will be forwarded in a timely manner to a pre-designated District-level official for review.

Mini Cheer Clinic
Join LVHS Cheerleaders for their 1st Annual Mini Cheer Clinic on Saturday, September 28th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm in the Main Gym at Lago Vista High School! A showcase for parents will be at 11:30 am. The cost of the clinic is $20 and includes a t-shirt! The clinic is open to all Kindergarten through 5th Grade students.
Participants will join the LVHS Cheerleaders on the sidelines during the 2nd quarter of the Pink Out game on Friday, October 4th!
All participants must wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Show your Viking Spirit by wearing Blue and Gold!!
