Gang Violence

Human Rights Violation

Rights Violated

Gangs have direct effects on a community, such as increased levels of crime, violence and murder. one fact about gangs is that gangs can be organized based upon race, ethnicity, territory, or money-making activities, and are generally made up of members ages 8 to 22 they are the leading factors for growth of violent crimes both on and off school property .Gang members are also more likely to drop out of school, struggle with unemployment, abuse drugs and alcohol or wind up in jail. These factors not only harm the gang members, but they make taxpayers to contribute to welfare and community assistance programs. This is important because gangs are increasing over time and with mostly all the violence coming from gang members its just not good for our community because its also harming civilians, plus it is also violating article 1 which says''All Human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights'' .This means that people should treat each other with respect, which in this case of gangs there are actually not, and don't have care for each other

Organisations trying to help

On organisation trying to stop Gang violence is the helper-foundation ,it teaches the importance of living life of structure and purpose , and still problem solving and goal setting. Also GRASP (Gang Rescue and Support Project) is a peer-run, intervention program that works with youth who are at-risk of gang involvement or are presently active in gangs, helps families of gang victims, and serves as a youth advocate. And, it works so well because it is run by ex-gang members who broke free of the gang life-style and turned their lives around. Another gang prevention program is the NIJ(national institute of justice) this program does not talk about why is gang in this world a problem but ways to prevent from even joining a gang, because it tells you how joining a gang is a life course, and it explains you're risks for joining a gang, and better things to do instead of a joining a gang.
