Students vs Faculty Basketball Game
Team 6-4 - the Sea Stars News
Team 6-4 students have been learning about space science in science class. They have completed activities / experiments about the seasons, the phases of the moon, and are currently working towards expanding their knowledge of the Milky Way Galaxy. In the upcoming weeks, students will learn about gravity and our solar system.
On May 18th, students on Team 6-4 will be attending a field trip to enjoy a Pawtucket Red Sox game. We will be sending home permission slips soon. May 18th is offering students a wonderful learning opportunity as well as a fun-filled day.
Drug and Alcohol Awareness Day
Come to McCoy Stadium and learn how you can prevent drug and alcohol abuse, with messages from the PawSox team, in-between inning games, videos and more throughout the day.

Science
At the beginning of May, students will be designing an Ecotourist's Dream. The challenge will be to design their destination in the State of Rhode Island. These creative engineers will be dreaming big to decide what they will include to attract tourists to their destination. In the process they will incorporate what they have learned about maintaining biodiversity, protecting ecological services, recycling non-renewable resources, and providing on-site energy to accommodate the touristsTeam 8-4
Music Department
May 17
The WMS Chorus and Band will perform the national anthem prior to a Paw Sox Game. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, please see a music teacher.
June 2
WMS Band and Chorus Spring Concert
6:30pm at Woonsocket High School
Free admission, all are welcome!
June 8
WMS Chorus will perform at a Woonsocket School Committee meeting at WMS Hamlet at 7pm. Students are to report at 6:30pm.

It’s not too early to think about summer reading!
If your child is looking for recommended middle school books, the Rhode Island Teen Book Award (RITBA) list is a good place to start. These books can be borrowed through the public library. Get Connected Summer Camp @ WMS
Incoming or current 6th, 7th and 8th graders are welcome to sign up for the Get Connected Summer Camp @ WMS. The Camp will begin on Tuesday, July 5th and end on Friday, August 12th. The hours are 8:00 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. at Villa Nova. Students will participate in a variety of activities including sports, recycled arts and crafts, creative engineering, NASA STEM challenge, animal science, oceanography, environmental science as well as team building and games. Also, breakfast and lunch will be provided every day, guest speakers and field trips on Fridays. There will be a Family Celebration on the last Friday of the Camp.
Cost: - CCF members: $30.00 camp fee/New members: $45.00 ($15.00 CCF membership/$30.00 camp fee).
Registration forms are available in the main office of both buildings, WMS and CCF websites.
