New York State Master Teachers
Congratulations to Mrs. Dewitt and Mrs. Nieves who have been selected as New York State Master Teachers to join the Finger Lakes cohort based at the SUNY Geneseo. Mrs. Dewitt and Mrs. Nieves are among 230 Master Teachers dedicated professionals who teach science, technology, computer science, robotics, coding, engineering, math, and integrated STEM courses across grades K-12 including Advanced Placement, Honors, and Regents levels. Great work!

SPRING DRIVERS ED UPDATE!!
Spring Drivers Education information will be released on Monday, February 21. Registration will take place online at xenegrade at 8 am on March 8 for juniors and seniors and 8 am on March 10 for sophomores. Spots are limited.
The Schroeder program begins March 29 and the Thomas program begins March 31. Both will end the week of June 6.
The commitment is three or four days a week and the cost is $585.00. Due to the rush to get a spot, we recommend that you set up an account prior to the day of registration at xenegrade.

Attention Seniors!
ACT college entrance exam
Attention Sophomores - The PreACT is a practice ACT college entrance exam. This exam is offered to sophomores on Saturday, March 19th at Thomas HS. The cost is $16.00 paid by check only made payable to WTHS PreACT. Deadline to register is Tuesday, March 15th. You may pick up your registration form in the student center or print it out at the link below.

ASVAB Exam
Attention Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors - The ASVAB exam is being offered at Thomas for FREE on Saturday, March 5th at 9:00am. The ASVAB is a multi aptitude exam for high school students that helps align your skills with your interests. This exam may help you explore future career goals regardless of your plans after high school. Registration forms are available in the student center or at the link below.

Junior College Scholarships
Attention Juniors - The common application for junior college scholarships is available in the student center starting on January 31st. This application requires an activities resume, that you can complete in your naviance account, an official transcript, which you can sign up to get in the student center, and the list of colleges you would like to be considered for. Colleges in this packet are mainly in New York State. The application can be picked up in the student center and is due back no later than Friday, March 25, 2022.
2022 Young Women of Distinction Scholarship Award
Attention Senior Young Women: The 2022 Young Women of Distinction Scholarship Award is offered by the Women’s Council, an affiliate of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.
This award is designed to recognize young women who are outstanding leaders, are involved in their communities, and are dynamic individuals who possess strength, wisdom & vision.

Cheerleading
The Cheerleaders will be competing this weekend at Eastridge HS.
Indoor Track
Indoor track teams will be competing in Sectionals on Friday at 6pm at Houghton College.
Bowling
The Bowling teams will be competing in sectionals this weekend at Gates Bowl. The Girls sectional was supposed to be today (Friday 2/18) but had been postponed until March 2nd and the Boys Sectional is tomorrow (Saturday 2/19)
Nordic Ski
Nordic Ski teams competed Monday at Bristol Mountain in the team relay sectional.
Boys Basketball
The Boys beat Brighton last Friday evening 61-54. Shawn M. Had 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Eli A. had 12 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists in the win. .
The Boys turned right around and hosted Bishop Kearney Saturday beating them 69-26. Shawn M. had 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. Jack R. had 12 points, 2 rebounds. Jackson K. had 13 points 9 rebounds and 3 assists in the win.
The boys lost to Churchville Chili Tuesday night 69-59. Andrew Q. had 26 points and Sean L. had 11 points in the loss.
The Boys played their last regular season game Thursday evening at Spencerport. They won 51-36. Jackson K had 23 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Q. had 18 points and 5 rebounds. Cory J had 5 steals and 2 assists in the win
The team ended up Division Champions and coach Coles was named Coach of the Year in Division 2.
The team will be seeded 2nd for sectionals and will receive a first round bye.
Girls Basketball
The girls beat Brighton last Friday evening 53-48. Mady K had 18 points. Mary M had 18 points. Ruby M. had 5 points in the win. The girls continued their winning Monday evening with a 53-50 win at Churchville Chili. Mady K. Had 23 points. Mary M had 9 points. Bella F. had 8 points and Teagan B. had 7 points in the win. The girls lost to Pittsford Mendon Tuesday 70-33. Mendon is the #1 ranked team in NYS. Bella F. had 9 points and 5 rebounds. Mady K. had 7 points and Teagan B. had 5 points and 7 rebounds. The girls won their last game of the regular season Wednesday night vs Churchville They best Churchville 77-43. Mady K had 22 points. Bella F. had 18 points. Ella W had 8 points in the win.
The girls head to sectionals next week with a first round game.
Wrestling
Wrestling finished up their season last Saturday at the State Qualifiers at SUNY Brockport. Nate C. and Jacob M. finished in 4th in their weight classes.

Boys Swim held sectionals last week
Hockey
The boys lost a tough game to Penfield last Friday 4-3. The final goal for Penfield came with 2 minutes left in the game. Scoring for the the Titans were Mike S. with an assist from Dylan L.; Jack S with assists from Dylan L. and Ethan S.; and Jason T. with assists coming from Mike S. and Brady Hi. The Titans have the #1 seed in Class B sectionals and have a bye in the first round of sectionals.
