2017 Black History Month Devotional
Unashamedly Black, Unapologetically Christian
Unashamedly Black, Unapologetically Christian, co-edited by Lee and Jana Hall-Perkins, is a collection of twenty nine devotionals that reflect on Black faith and life--integrating Black history, scriptural interpretation, and critical reflection on culture in such a way that nurtures faith formation, promotes liberation, and affirms that we are created in the image of God. The contributing authors come from diverse perspectives while addressing current issues facing Black lives (e.g. Black Lives Matter movement, American politics, police brutality, gender violence, environmental justice, ableism, and discrimination against the LGBTQ community).
Contributing authors: Danielle Ayers, Earle Fisher, Jeremy Williams, Joshua Everett, Kendrick Kemp, Leonard Curry, and Shantell Hinton.
