Closing Out The School Year
The health and safety of our students and staff is always our number one priority. We are working hard to provide and support distance learning for our students, as well as work on the best plan for closing out the 2019-2020 school year.
Pick-Up Logistics
In order to ensure the health & safety of our families and staff, we will have student/parent drop-off line using the car rider dismissal point in the front of the building for parents to drop off library books, chromebooks that were borrowed, and other materials belonging to the teachers. We will have a second line for pick up of students' personal belongings whrough the bus line by the cafeteria. The drop-off and pick-up will be scheduled from Tuesday, May 26th through Friday, May 29th.
Please place a sign that clearly states students name (Last, First) in the passenger side dashboard. To facilitate minimal wait times, students with combined last names (EX: Lynn Edwards Talley) should have both last names listed on the car display sign. (EX: Edwards Talley) Typically, items will be listed under the students combined last names.
Nurse Clark reach out to families to arrange a pickup time and date for any medications that she has here at Salyers. If you are unable to retrieve the medication yourself, you will need to inform her of who will be picking up medication in your place. Medications that are not picked up will be disposed of before next year.
Please note: We will NOT be able to accommodate any walk-ups.
Please remain inside your vehicle and have your trunk open or passenger window rolled down so staff members can load your child’s bag of personal items.
Possible Questions/Concerns
I can not make the time specified for my child’s indicated time. Will there be other opportunities to pick up personal items?
- Due to limited staff, protective gear and to minimize staff and family exposure we will only offer pick-up on the dates and times specified. Medications that are not picked up on the dates and times specified will be disposed of before next year?
Can a babysitter, neighbor, or other family member pick up my child’s personal items?
- Yes! As long as they are in the appropriate line and have a sign stating student name, we will release personal items. If you are picking up items for multiple children, please have a sign for each child. Please note: medication can only be picked up by a parent or guardian.
