Nurse Notes
Dear Lone Star Families,
As with many other things in 2020, Covid closed down LSE's girls spinal screening we began in December. Mrs. Johnson and I started checking the 10 yr old girl's spines for any abnormal curvature. Then we both had to be out on quarantine due to close contact exposure. Things figuratively snowballed from there, and literally a few weeks ago!
But now it is March! I can see green in the fields and pastures where there was only brown a week ago! Tiny hopeful buds are peeking out of tree branches!
Mrs. Johnson and I are planning to complete the required Texas Department of State Health Services scoliosis screening next week during the 10 yr old girls PE period. Girls are screened at age 10 and 12 years. Boys at ages 13 or 14 in Texas. We sent home parent notes with details in 4-5th grade girls backpacks yesterday. Please reach out if you have questions or do NOT want your child screened. Please check out links below for more details..

monica.lemke@misd.orgWeekly COVID Positive Case Notification (March 1- 5)
Dear Lone Star Elementary Parents and Staff,
This week, we did not receive any positive notification of COVID-19 for students or staff within our building
There is no concern with close contact at this time. A close contact is defined as someone within 6 feet of the individual for 15 minutes or longer without protective face coverings or someone who was directly exposed to infectious secretions. We feel it is our responsibility to keep our parents and staff informed as much as possible during this time. Disinfecting of the building continues to happen on a nightly basis. Teachers and staff are diligently cleaning commonly touched surfaces throughout the day according to TEA Guidelines.
We are taking every step possible to stop the spread to others. If you are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, we strongly encourage you to consult with your health care provider and communicate with your campus nurse. We will continue to monitor the situation and report required information to the Montgomery County Health Department.
Sincerely,
Lone Star Elementary Administration
