Our Mission: To Glorify God by making More and Better Disciples

From the Administrator

Hi everyone!

Welcome to this week's CRC newsletter! Here you will find time-sensitive announcements, events, service schedules, offering schedules, and prayer list. I will send these out at the end of each week. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!

Please continue to lift all those in our church family in prayer as we continue to navigate the COVID pandemic both together and apart. We pray that each of you finds peace in the midst of turmoil, hope in the midst of fear and doubt, and love for one another in the midst of this unprecedented time of uncertainty. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

"...for the Lord did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control." 2 Timothy 1:7

In Christ,

Nancy - Church Office Administrator

We have a couple special church events for you to consider participating during Holy Week. We will have a special time of worship on Good Friday, April 2nd at 7:00pm, focusing on Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. The format of the service will be similar to Christmas Eve and the Lord’s Prayer service from a few weeks back where we tell the story and message through the Bible, prayer, and a selection of traditional and modern worship songs! Additionally, Pastor Lambert will offer a special Good Friday meditation and we will observe Holy Communion during the service.

We are also offering a couple special events on Easter Sunday, April 4th. Our Easter Sunday Worship is scheduled to be hosted outside on the front lawn (weather permitting). You are invited to bring your own lawn chairs/blankets, or we have invested in new chairs that will be set up on the lawn as well. In addition to our 9:30am worship service celebrating Jesus’ Resurrection, all are invited to a great time of fellowship, fun, and food with an Easter Breakfast anytime between 8:30-9:20.

Our Easter Breakfast will be catered by Panera Bread with a variety of breakfast sandwiches, pastries, bagels (with cream cheese options, of course), and coffees provided. We will also have water and juices available. Normally, we would plan on utilizing the many culinary gifts in our church family, but we want to be extra cautious as we continue to navigate through COVID. We can imagine that everyone eagerly wants to be done with COVID, and we understand that, but we also want to be respectful to those in our church and in our community, who are sensitive to COVID, in general, how we respond to it, and the precautions we take. We hope this will help make our breakfast more inviting to all, especially our surrounding neighborhood.

We will have an Easter Egg Hunt following the worship service on the south lawn and by the office. This event is for children Pre-K through 3rd grade, divided up into a couple different age groups. Some of the Common Ground students and leaders will be helping to facilitate the event in the different age groups. The Egg Hunt should take only 10-20 minutes, so the kids would be finished before all the fellowship after worship is done!

We hope to see as much of our church family and community as you/they are comfortable and able during these special times. Please prayerfully consider participating in these events.

children's ministry updates

Child Care on Sunday Mornings: Starting next Sunday, April 11th, we will be opening the nursery for our morning worship service schedule. Specific steps have been taken to ensure a safe and sanitized environment for our infants and toddlers. The hard-surfaces and toys will be steam-cleaned/sanitized after each Sunday morning service. We trust you will find the return to child care a welcome development after more than a year of closure.

Children’s Worship: We are fully prepared to return to a regular schedule of Children’s Worship starting next Sunday, April 11th. Stephanie secured enough volunteers to get underway. We have changed the curriculum and are very excited to see this program return to our Sunday morning schedule. Stephanie, our Children’s Ministry Director, is grateful for the number of volunteers who signed up but we still need more volunteers to keep this program functioning properly over the long-haul so please, if you can, sign on to help out in this vital program for our young children.

Cadet Pinewood Derby

The Cadets are planning a Pinewood Derby Race for Wednesday night April 7 in the social hall from 6-8 pm ( we currently have about ten boys coming regularly) so it might be a quick race. We have a new track that has to get the bugs worked out of. so there will be time for last minute tune up of cars.

Pacific Sierra Council Pinewood Derby and Car Show will be held Saturday April 10 at the Westra's 10 am till Noon. Contact Adam Danielson for details. (410-0443)

Associate Pastor Search

The Governing Council has decided that it would be beneficial for the congregation to have an associate pastor on our staff. The process to bring an associate pastor on board is underway. A search team is being assembled. Please pray for them. Several candidates have already applied for this position. We are excited to see whom the Lord will bring to our congregation and community. Please pray for the Lord’s leading in this regard.

new directory

We realize that we did not publish a new directory in the Fall and this was mostly due to COVID and the ability to have all the corrections and updates for a new publication. We feel that we should begin work, once again, on getting a new directory into the congregations hands as there have been quite a few changes. So, with that being said, there will be a copy of the directory in the social hall and if you are not able to check that, if you have had any changes, i.e. address, phone numbers, email etc. in the last year or so, would you please email Nancy at Thank you so much!

Farewell to Curtis, Lael, Wilha, Asa and Daniela Dunn

We ask the Lord’s blessings for the Dunn family as they move across the country to Marion, Virginia so that Curtis can finish his schooling for Physicians Assistant. We thank them for all their work for the Kingdom and service here at Hanford CRC throughout their years as members. They will be greatly missed. We pray safe travels for them and that they are blessed in their new home and church family. Their new address is 662 Anderson Ave. Marion, VA 24354. Their email addresses and phone numbers remain the same.

Farewell to Beatrice Reyneveld

Beatrice has decided to make the move to Michigan to be near her daughter and twin grandchildren. We thank Beatrice her years of service here at the Hanford CRC and at Maranatha Homes. She will be greatly missed. We pray God’s blessings for her as she establishes a new home and a new church family. Beatrice’s new address is 250 Marcell Dr. NE #8, Rockford, MI 49341. Phone 559-309-1126; website: BeatriceReyneveld

Front Lawn Renovation Project

Preparation work for this project is underway. Over the past two weeks signs and trees have been removed in preparation for what we believe a very beautiful and usable front lawn. We are eagerly awaiting the final plan from the landscape architect we’ve employed to do the design work for this project. As soon as they are ready, we will share them the congregation. We think you will be pleased with the dramatic improvement in the curb-appeal of this address.
