Two Classical composers back-to-back: Haydn and Mozart were not just composers, but friends. A good friend of Bruce, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra principal trumpet David Washburn joins the KGS to perform Haydn’s “Trumpet Concerto in E-flat Major.” Composed in 1796 to feature a new, keyed trumpet, this may be one of Haydn’s most famous concertos and displays the virtuosity available with that “new” instrument. Arguably the most famous of Mozart’s 41 symphonies, “Symphony No. 40 in G minor” is certainly a recognizable composition – even becoming a popular ringtone in the 1990s!Sunday
