COVID-19 Campus Protocol

With the new rise in cases, we must revisit the protocol. Although CDC has released new guidelines, the guidelines for BISD has not changed.
  • If someone in your home test positive, please notify the campus and keep your scholar at home. The nurse will share proper quarantine time and protocol.
  • If your scholar has symptoms, please keep your scholar at home and contact the school nurse. Rapid testing is still available, but must be schedule with school nurse.

As we return to campus from break, Masks are HIGHLY recommended for our safety and strong finish to the school year.

ATTENDANCE GOAL- 97% DAILY @ JC- WE NEED OUR SCHOLARS PRESENT

Big picture

Attendance Matters

We absolutely do not encourage our scholars to come to school sick, BUT we do realize we need our scholars present to close instructional gaps. Send our scholars to school daily.

Are Our Scholars Well

Small Group Magic

It is not a coincidence @ JC. Small Group time is intentional and mandatory for our scholar's success.

Our Relationships with Our Scholars Matter

Taking a quick break from instruction to capture a smile and a moment is a Great big Deal. Scholars deserve to know we are present with them.

New Perspectives

When they learn from their teacher, but then they hear it again a different way; it validates their learning. Shout out to Mrs. Sharon Rigby for visiting our Grade 3 scholars before the holiday and sharing a great lesson on the solar system.

Our Scholars Are Well

Virtue of the Month- Self Control

Big picture

Self-control is choosing to do what you should even when you don’t want to. How many times have you had to practice self-control at home or school? Sometimes we just have to decide that letting things go and doing what’s
best is better for us.

Mastering Dismissal Procedures

  • Families Remain In Vehicles- We are mastering our arrival/dismissal procedures... We ask that parents do not exit vehicles during drop-off or dismissal. We will service families from their vehicles first.
  • Parking on Taft Street Side of Building Prohibited during Dismissal- We ask that ALL car-riders are picked up on the Cleveland Street Side of the Building.

Your Scholar is A Car-Rider: If and When These Conditions Apply

If at anytime your scholar is exiting campus and entering a vehicle, your scholar is a Car-Rider. It does not matter that this not your scholar's normal way of getting home. If at any point you are picking up your scholar, please report to the Cleveland Street Side of the building for pick-up. If your scholar is caught by an adult walking and entering a car, he/she will be located with car-riders for their safety and the safety of all walkers exiting campus.

Entry Into The Building For Scholars

Car-Riders- Cleveland Street Side of Building

  • Parents remain in car-rider line until temperate checks are cleared.
  • Masks will be available. Let the team member know if your scholar needs one.
  • 8:00 AM - Gym doors close/ Morning announcements start: Only at that time will car-riders report in the front of the building

Walkers- Taft Street Side ( Front of Building)

  • Parents may remain in the vestibule until temperature checks are completed.
  • Vestibule is a designated Hug Zone for families.

Bus-Riders-

  • Bus-Rider Zone on Taft side of building
  • Mask are available. If your scholar needs a mask, please let them know to ask

Picking Up Scholars Early

  • Closed Campus @ 2:30 PM - Doors lock at that time to prepare for a safe dismissal

We humbly ask that you allow your scholar to attend school for the entire day as our goal is to increase academics and exceed the district and state. In order for the team to make sure we meet our goal, we need our families. We understand emergencies, but we ask that you would honor our SOAR. Leave our scholars with us for the duration of the school day.
