Tools of the Craft
Web 2.0 and App Cheat Sheet
Ever wish you could have a cheat sheet of apps and websites that you might use in your class? Well, the PLEFs have created one for you! Each month, we will feature 5 new websites or apps, with a description and link, if applicable. I've shared a folder with each of you in OneDrive where you can find this month's and all future editions of the Cheat Sheet. Click the link to go to this month's Cheat Sheet. Each week I will feature one or two of these apps and websites.
Tellagami
Teachers can use "gami" to enhance their instruction by:
- creating a 30-second animation to give students a hook.
- give instructions for an activity
- provide instructional information
Students can use "gami" to:
- show what they've learned in 30 seconds
- teach a new skill to someone
Tellagami is available in the Amplify Market for both teachers and students. Check out the website for some examples of what you can do with Tellagami.
Crafting Wisdom
PLEsolutions (PLE Resolutions)
- Do more small group activities. Make sure that you have MEANINGFUL groups, not self-selected or random. (Group 2)
- Assess your classroom rules. Are they effective? Where are your problems still, and how can you fix them? (Culture 1)
- Make sure your lessons are lessons that YOU would want to sit through. (Target 1)
- Move your room around to allow for grouping and independent work. (Environment 1)
Need help with your PLEsolutions? Your PLEF is available for modeling, motivation, and materials!
Challenge Corner
- Create and send me a "gami" created by you or a student as part of an assignment.
- Create 1 or more PLEsolutions and implement in your classroom. Invite me to come see it in action!
- Request help, modeling, motivation, resources, etc. in implementing PLE in your classroom.
To receive your prize, send me an email with the subject line "Challenge Accepted" and details of your challenge.
