Pioneer 10
On the 15 of July 1972, Pioneer 10 transmitted data on the magnetic fields, energetic particle radiation and dust populations in interplanetary space. Pioneer 10 was the first spacecraft intended to fly by Jupiter. Some examples of the technology used is listed below:
1) imaging photopolarimeter - A 2.5-centimeter telescope which is able to make a two-dimensional spin-scan maps of intensity and polarization in red and blue light at high resolution.
2) magnetometer; This instrument can measure the magentic field
3) infrared radiometer; measures the surface temperature
4) ultraviolet photometer; measures visible light
