Who why did colonists come to north carolina?

In 1653, Virginian colonists started to come to a new land because King Charles II had want to claim new land so he sent his people to go search.

What did the virginan colonists find when they got to North Carolina?

when the colonists arrived to North Carolina they found economic resources such as rice, tobacco, and indigo, they also found out that the climate was regularly warm. they also found out the geography of the colony which was that it had mountains, warm soil, and that the colony was near the ocean.

The people named the Carolinas Carolina because they were naming the new found land after their king. Carolina is an Italian word for Charles as in king Charles II. Also north Carolina can be found in the coastal plains.
