Preparing for Parent Access in Canvas Timetable
Grade Passback Introduction
Grade Passback from Canvas to Teacher Access Center (TAC) is one method to pass numeric scores in Canvas to TAC. Teachers may use this new method and/or continue to add grades manually in TAC. TAC remains the grade book of record, and Home Access Center remains the access point for parents for final grades.
When will grade passback be available to all teachers?
Grade passback is currently being piloted across the county. It will be available for all teachers on February 1st.
What is grade passback?
Grade passback allows teachers to transfer numerical grades from the Canvas Gradebook to TAC.
What will passback?
The sync will create a column in TAC with the appropriate weight and label (Practice/Process/Product) and associate numerical grades to all students in the class.
Can non numerical values (i.e. late, excused) be synced?
No, only numerical values will passback.
Can I resync the same assignment if changes are made?
Yes, the synch will adjust or add any changed grades to the same assignment.
