Weekly Happenings

Week of 10/19/2020

A Message from the Administrator:

Greetings MCS Families,

Here are a few reminders:

COVID Reminder:

I want to remind families to please screen your students for COVID symptoms daily. The student screening symptoms are located here: Child Screening Link. If your child is showing 2+ symptoms or a high risk symptom, please take caution and keep them home. If you, or anyone else in your household, is being tested please do not send your student to school until you have a negative result. If you have a positive result we ask that you contact the office and we will give you guidance on advice from the health department.

Wednesday Education/Conferences :

This Wednesday, the 21st, and next Wednesday, the 28th, students are required to do online learning. Conferences are on 11/4 and 11/11, which students will not be required to do online learning. Teachers will be getting a hold of you to set up conference times.

Strong Families, Strong Students Grant (Please read and take advantage):

Schools and families have been hit hard by COVID-19, causing serious disruption to our students’ education. Strong Families, Strong Students will be providing resources to Idaho families to help with their child’s learning.

The program will launch October 21st, and families will be able to apply at strongfamilies.idaho.gov. Strong Families, Strong Students is funded with $50 million in federal coronavirus relief funds. It enables eligible families to securely access $1,500 per child or up to $3,500 per family credit.

Students and families can be eligible regardless of whether the child attends an Idaho public school, public charter school, private school, parochial school or home school. Awards will be prioritized based on household income level.

For more details, please visit: https://www.strongfamilies.idaho.gov/

Picture Retakes: RESCHEDULED

We will be cancelling picture retake day tomorrow and rescheduling them for November 4th. We received the orders that were placed and will be sending them home with Group B on Thursday and Group A on Monday. Our hope is that this will give you additional time to review your students school picture before determining whether or not they need a retake.

We appreciate your understanding and are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please let me know if you have any questions!
