Latin Goes Roman
Students in Latin Three are currently beginning a unit in which they compare and contrast their own diets and foods with the Ancient Romans.
The Students will present their recipes and share the food they have prepared with the class using only ingredients the Ancient Romans had, and describe the process of making it.
Students, read, interpret, and research Ancient Roman recipes that have been preserved in a Roman cookbook and students may incorporate their own dishes using authentic ingredients.
This has been one of students' favorite activities!
Club News
Foothill’s Creative Writing Club is a club where you can share your writing with pride--fiction or not. The club was conceived this year when Club President Chris Haley wanted to have a place where he could share his creativity in writing with others who felt similarly.
The club holds meetings twice a month to discuss community service opportunities and share their stories. “The only requirement for the club is you have to be interested in writing” says Chris, ”You don’t need to share your work to partake.”
Writing stories to share in the club and hearing constructive criticism helps improve writing. Currently, Creative Writing Club is very small due to the fact that no one knows it exists. However, next year, Chris hopes for an expansive turnout because, after all, this is the club’s first year. The stories are not required to be a certain length and can be any genre. We share many genres weekly, such as science fiction, drama, adventure, action, thriller, romance, and many more. Students who are interested in joining the club should contact Chris Haley.
