SCASL Regional Network Updates
July 2020
Greetings Regional Network Committee!
Ready or not, we are preparing for the 20-21 school year! You play an important role in communicating information to SCASL members and the Executive Board. My goals for this year are to improve and streamline communication channels and to ensure that we have a contact person for every school district.
Thank you so much for serving on the Regional Network Committee!
Elizabeth Graham
SCASL Regional Network Director
Action Items to Start the Year
1. Renew Your SCASL Membership - ASAP!
Regional Coordinators and SCASL Committee members are required to be SCASL members. Renew your membership now and it is good through 6/30/2021. Please encourage school librarians in your region to join/renew SCASL. Strong school libraries are more important than ever and SCASL is a strong advocate for school libraries and librarians!
2. Forward Regional News Link to District Contacts - Deadline is 7/31
Share the news of school library happenings for publication in the Fall 2020 SCASL Messenger. Please add news items under your Region’s Heading: grants, awards, special events, unique distance learning activities, future or virtual author visits, personnel updates.
3. Verify District Contacts
Regional Network communication relies on having aschool librarian contact at each district.
What to do:
- Check in with each district contact in yo ur Region to verify if they will continue in this position for 2020-21. If they are not continuing, ask them to help you find a new district contact.
- Add district contacts to the 20-21 District Contacts Google Sheets. This provides continuity when we change Regional Coordinators.
- If you do not have a contact at each district in your region, reach out to school librarians within that district and request that they help you find one.
- If you are having trouble finding district contacts, please let me know and I will be glad to help!
