Martin's Minutes
Week of October 17th
Happenings in the classroom
We were very busy in Social Studies with Columbus Day and National Fire Safety week. We really enjoyed the visit from fire fighters and paramedics from Western Carteret Fire Department.
In writing we are continuing to work on writing complete sentences that make sense and always using capital letters and punctuation.
Power paws was in full force this week too! If you don't know, this is a 40 minute block that the students are grouped by strengths and needs and placed in small group of 15 or less. Teachers and TA's take these small groups and focus on their needs. The kids have enjoyed working with friends from other classrooms!

Mike's Farm Thursday
Granny will be teaching us about being a farmer in the past and what it was like to boil your clothes over a fire! Grandpa will allow us to try fresh squeezed apple cider, yummy!
We will return to school at 2:15. Parents may check their students out at the farm. Hope to see many of you there!
