🕸️ WEB CREW NEWS: (Where Everyone Belongs)
Our Halloween Quad Event for the 6th graders during lunch was a huge success. The 6th graders enjoyed music, games, eating lunch in their quad and Halloween decor. The big hit was the 4 person obstacle course! Mr. Smith served as our MC, Jeff Prov style from Survivor. Tons of 6th graders teamed up with their peers to race through a 3 legged course, consisting of hula hoop challenge, hopscotch (while holding hands) and re-creating a building with Jenga blocks.
Our WEB Crew leaders have had 3 classroom visits, consisting of welcoming them to TBMS, helping with transition from elementary to middle school and a mini lesson on “positive attitudes”. In addition to supporting our 6th graders, our WEB CREW leaders are also welcoming our new TBMS students on their first day with a campus tour, giving them insights into their new school, and hanging out with them during lunch.
WEB will continue to meet about once a month before school, classroom visits, and promoting kindness and welcoming everybody.

🏐 Girls Volleyball Making School History
BY MORGAN COLYER
Twelve Bridges Middle School - a strong serving team with a huge front line leaves middle schools frustrated and confused. The Twelve Bridges Titans 8th grade girls volleyball team utilized their team’s size and skill to create offensive opportunities and deny any threat easily surging to the program’s second East Division and second F.I.S.A.L. win.
The Titans have a huge advantage over the other teams with three well-rounded club players, Morgan Colyer, Emilie Parker, and Mekhia Hayden. In their last two seasons, these girls were the captains of the Twelve Bridges Titans. Morgan Colyer is about to start her third year of club volleyball. Colyer is the Titan’s heaviest hitter and is also a valuable server and defensive player. Emilie Parker was the Titan’s setter. During her 7th and 8th grade seasons, she dished out many sets that lead to many assists. Parker is in her fifth season of club volleyball, and because of this she was another key passer and server. Mekhia Hayden is also about to enter third year of club. Hayden was also one of the big hitters. She helped lead the Titans to win the championship with her kills and serves.
In their 7th grade season the Titans had many girls who had never stepped foot on a volleyball court. But thanks to their coach, David Baker, they still excelled during games. In the championships they played Granite Oaks, who also had three club players. But the Titans beat the Falcons with no problems. This win would be the first time in TBMS history that girls volleyball had won both the East Division and F.I.S.A.L championships. I
Returning from a big victory the Titans gained some new players in their 8th grade year, including Emily Lemus, Kaycee Jacobson and Vanessa Mongold. Throughout the season the Titans had many successes with the help of returning players Aliyah Mallison, Lexi Metheny, Madilyn Cook, Trinity Markert, Andrea Ramirez and Artica Zaputil. The real thing that made this team special was the fact that they were friends on and off the court.
Madilyn Cook said, “What I liked most about our season(s) was the bond our team had and playing with all of my friends.” Emily Lemus, also said something similar, “Even though it was my first year playing volleyball, it was a great season with a great team!”
During their championships against Eich, the Titans got many kills and aces. In the second, and final set, the Titans had a huge lead and Trinity Markert helped increase that lead with four kills. When asked about the season Markert responded with, “This past season has been the best experience ever! The girls are so fun to hangout with and they are like my sisters! Mr. Baker is such a great coach and it has been a pleasure to be one of his players! Thank for a great season Titans.” The championship game was ended by Morgan Colyer with a block. This win meant that the Titans had won 50 straight sets from their 7th and 8th grade year with no losses. It would also be the first time in Twelve Bridges Middle School history that any sports team has ever won four banners (two from their 7th grade year and two from their 8th grade year). These girls had an exceptional season and hope to continue it in high school. GO TITANS!

Cracker is one of the United States Army’s most valuable weapons. She’s a German Shepherd trained to sniff out bombs, traps, and enemy soldiers. The safety of everyone around her depends on her keen sense of smell and intelligence. Rick Hanski wants to show the world, especially his father and sergeant, that he has what it takes to be a great soldier. When Cracker is paired with Rick, it isn’t easy for either of them. They need to be friends before they can be a team, and they must be a team if they want to get home alive. (Historical fiction)

Full of amazing stories, War Dogs tells of the part dogs have played in the US military since World War II, and they are still leading patrols hunting for IEDs today. The author talks to top military commanders, to handlers who deployed with dogs in wars from Vietnam to Iraq, to combat-trained therapists who brought dogs into war zones to try to stave off PTSD and to veterinarians stationed in Afghanistan.
