Holy Name Highlights
August 25, 2017
Note From The Principal's Desk
Greetings!
Another week down and we are moving along quite nicely. We are almost done with our NWEA formative assessment testing – we should be finished by the end of next week. A special thanks to Mrs. Buckel and Mrs. Wright who have taken on the task of making sure everyone gets finished and caught up!
Just a few reminders for things on the horizon. Oktoberfest raffle tickets are on sale now. Our goal is to have each student sell at least one ticket. CYO sports are about to get even busier. Our kickball teams have already started and have games throughout the next couple of weeks. Our football teams start this Sunday and are getting ready for a great season.
As always, if there are ever any concerns or celebrations, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I always feel that it is better to have a pulse on the school community so I can respond proactively when necessary.
Thanks and have a great weekend!

Candy Donations
Hello Holy Name Families!
Greetings from the Oktoberfest Kid Zone Committee! We are in the final days of preparing for Oktoberfest 2017, and we need your help! Each year we strive to provide a safe and fun area for kids of all ages to have fun. As you can imagine, this takes a lot of supplies, and A LOT of adult volunteers. There are 2 main ways you can help:
- Donate a bag of candy
PK-K: Tootsie Rolls
1-2: Sweet Tarts
3-5: Dum Dum Suckers
6-8: Jolly Ranchers
2. Sign up for a Kid Zone shift (high school students and adults only, please)
Bags of candy should be sent to the school office by Wednesday, September 27th. If you have any questions or need more information about signing up for a shift, please don't hesitate to contact me!
Thank you all for your help, and we look forward to seeing everyone on September 29th and 30th!

Living Rosary
The Faith Formation and the Oktoberfest Committee would like to invite you to participate in a Living Rosary on Sunday, September 24 at 1 pm in the church.
With the rosary we will be calling upon the intercession of our Blessed Mother for the success of the Oktoberfest. Following the Rosary there will be pre-Oktoberfest fun in the JCPC.
In the Living Rosary each person stands in a chain representing a bead of the Rosary. If you are interested in being a part of the Living Rosary, please call the parish office at 317-784-5454 or email at parishadmin@holyname.cc. All are welcome to attend this beautiful prayer opportunity.
Thanks,
Jennifer Kedra

From the Desk of the Social Worker
I am excited to be back at Holy Name School for a wonderful new school year! I am here to assist your children with any problem they might be struggling with. Some examples of things I can help with are grief, anxiety, depression, peer conflicts, as well as separation or divorce related issues.
I will need your permission to see any student in grades Pre-K through 5th, unless there is an emergency, but students in the middle school may self-refer.
I will be at Holy Name on Thursday again this year.
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to working with you and your children!
