Music at the Manse

free bluegrass concerts of Dickinson Presbyterian Church

Saturday, June 23, 2012

Dickinson Presbyterian Church will kick off its twelfth season of the Music at the Manse concert series on Saturday, June 23 with two of Central PA’s favorite Bluegrass bands. The concert begins at 6 PM. Dickinson brings newcomers Bailey’s Crossing to the stage for the first time. Bailey’s Crossing is a relatively new bluegrass band, but collectively they have over a century of experience. They have quickly become one of the areas favorite Bluegrass bands, performing at many festivals, clubs and fairs. Joining Bailey’s Crossing is Bluegrass royalty, Shiloh Ridge. Based in York County, Shiloh Ridge brings their tight harmonies and great instrumentals to Dickinson’s stage. Shiloh Ridge has performed all over the East Coast. They have a great love for Bluegrass music and it shows through their fantastic performances. Shiloh Ridge has performed every year since Music at the Manse’s start in 2000.

Music at the Manse is a free concert series that provides quality family oriented music for the greater Carlisle/Newville area. All visitors and guests are invited to enjoy the concerts from the comforts of their own lawn chairs or blankets.

Music at the Manse does collect a good will offering at all of the concerts. The collection goes entirely to a local charity! Since 2000, Music at the Manse has donated over $17,000 to very worthy causes. This concert's good will offering will be donated entirely to Habitat for Humanity and used to assist many local families in need.

Dickinson Presbyterian Church also has a full line food wagon on site for all the concerts. Delicious meals can be purchased at the food wagon...come early for dinner! The menu is constantly changing, but some of the regulars on the menu include hot sausages, hamburgers/cheeseburgers, pies, ice cream, draft birch beer and plenty of drinks. We are able to bring excellent performers to the stage because of your patronage of the food wagon!

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the grounds of Dickinson Presbyterian Church. Pets are permitted, but are not encouraged. Please keep all dogs on a leash. Parking is free on the grounds of DPC.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved into the sanctuary at Dickinson Presbyterian Church. Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
