News from Mrs. Hartooni
Hello!
I hope that you had a great summer! This will be a very exciting year at PDCMS and I hope you are ready for a great year learning Science. You will investigate the following topics: cells, the scientific method, light, plants, animals, and classification. Gardening will also be a huge part of your experience! All of these topics will involve hands-on labs. Students will keep digital portfolios and write a garden blog.
Please make sure that you come to class prepared with your tools: smart phone/tablet/laptop, paper and pencil. And don't forget a positive attitude and willingness to try new things.
I am looking forward to this school year and having you as my students.

About Mrs. Hartooni
I grew up in rural Pennsylvania with my parents and one brother. After moving to California in 1980, I attended George Washington Elementary, Abraham Lincoln, PDMS, and PDHS. My love of traveling has taken me to most of Eastern Europe and Mexico City. I'm married and have a daughter. I graduated from University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in Biology. I gained experience in my field at an oncology laboratory where I conducted chemotherapy resistance testing. I then returned to school at CSUSB to obtain a teaching credential. My own teaching philosophy includes a belief that learning is a lifelong pursuit. I plan to provide a safe, exciting, creative and collaborative classroom environment with loads of fun science learning.
