Principal Young's Caregiver Update
September 22, 2022
Message from Principal Young
This past week we began acknowledging STARS OF THE WEEK for living out the Glen Hills Way. Each week teachers will nominate students for demonstrating either Responsibility, Respect, or Inclusion. Our STARS OF THE WEEK were acknowledged for taking responsibility to challenge themselves to learn and grow. Scholars show RESPONSIBILITY by stepping out of their comfort zone to ask questions, contribute ideas, connecting with new friends, and with old friends in new ways. As a staff we look forward to recognizing more scholars throughout the school year for the positive ways they contribute to making Glen Hills a school we are all proud to be a part of.

EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUR SCHOLARS
Are you looking for ways to ensure your student has opportunities to develop interests and talents?
Future City Competition For Grades 6-8
Future City is a project-based learning program where students imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future. This opportunity is open for all of our scholars. This year’s theme is Climate Change. Students need to do research about climate change, the effects of climate change and imagine a city that is struggling with the effects of climate change. They need to come up with solutions and technological inventions to combat the effects of climate change and make their imaginary city a number one city in the world one hundred years from now. Interested students will work with Mrs. Murali during resource time every day to write a 1,500-word essay, build a model city, and make a presentation. If you are an engineer or architect and would like to help out, please contact Mrs. Murali for more details.
