First Grade
Happy Holidays to our first-grade friends and families! Our classes will participate in the Holiday Musical on Tuesday, December 11th in the cafeteria. The show starts at 6:00 p.m. Please bring your child to his / her classroom by 5:45 p.m. Each teacher will give their class directions as to what they are expected to wear to the performance. Students will be held after the performance in their classroom until signed out by a parent. PLEASE do not leave the performance until the show is over. All students deserve a great audience… stay and enjoy it! You’ll love the show!
The field trip to the Pioneer Arts Settlement will be on Thursday, December 13. Make sure your child is dressed appropriately for being outside. Students are still required to wear uniforms that day. Wearing long pants, close-toed shoes, and a jacket or sweater is recommended. Part of the trip and lunch will be outside. We are permitted two chaperones per class on the bus. However, additional approved chaperones may follow the bus with their vehicle. Please let your child’s teacher know if you are interested in driving separately and follow. The cost per chaperone is less if you drive. Students must ride the bus. You may be asked to carry a classroom lunch cooler, if possible. Thank you.
Have a wonderful and safe holiday break! Take time to have your child read and write during the break. Plan a trip to the library to check out some festive books and practice good handwriting while writing out holiday cards and “thank-you” notes to friends and family. Practice adding and subtracting skills while looking through grocery or sales flyers.
See you in 2019!
Third Grade
Dear Families,
The end of 2018 is upon us! As the year comes to a close, please ensure that your child continues to read during the holiday break for at least fifteen minutes a day. To support your child’s developing comprehension skills, ask your child questions about what they read.
“What were the characters like in the story?”
“What was your favorite part of the story? Why?”
“Was there a problem in the story? What was it? How was it solved?”
Also, we would like to have your child go on IXL.com, Raz-Kids and Success Maker for a few minutes daily. This will keep your child progressing while on holiday break. Let’s keep those young minds growing.
Further, our classes are also in need of dry-erase markers. If at all possible, please send in a pack of dry-erase markers with your child to class. Your donation is very much appreciated!
As always, thank you for your continued support at home! We hope your family has a wonderful and restful holiday!
Sincerely,
Third Grade Team

primer grado
Te encantará el show!
Gracias.
¡Tenga unas vacaciones maravillosas y seguras!
Vamos a mantener esas mentes jóvenes creciendo.

Enciende tus motores y corre a leer AHORA!
