From the Principal
Having students in the building has further strengthened our belief that a partnership between school and home is crucial in helping our students be successful in all things. In preparation for even more students on campus, please make note of the following things found in this edition of the Mott News:
- Routines to practice with your child.
- New health forms that must be filled out.
- Make sure you know your child's bus route.
- Meal information for in person and virtual learners.
We appreciate all of your support!

"A Healthy Lunch" Takes on a New Meaning
An example: Many of our young owls like oranges in their lunch. We love that they are eating healthy, but kiddos have difficulty peeling oranges. We have adults in the cafeteria to help students, but they cannot risk contamination of students’ lunches by peeling all of the oranges. So, the best thing is to send the oranges already peeled.
Other ways you can help prepare your child is to practice the following:
- Wearing a mask for long periods of time
- Frequent hand-washing and social distancing
- Getting out of the car independently
- Opening lunch containers and individually wrapped/bagged items
Reminders for parents:
- No visitors will be allowed on campus
- No lunches can be dropped off at school
A Message from Nurse Cat
Dear Parents,
Due to change in district policy, the district is now requiring all students to have DIGITAL health forms filled out in order for them to be treated or evaluated by the nurse. This includes basic first aid for skinned knees and bumped elbows. Even if you have filled out the pink paper health form this year, unfortunately we are now required to have the online health form completed. If we do not have an online health form in skyward and the student has a health need, you will be called for pick-up or 911 will be called if it is a serious issue. The great news is, once you do it, next year you can click one button and select “no changes,” or edit where needed and then be done! Please log in to your Skyward parent portal and fill out the online health form as soon as possible. If you are unsure how to set up your parent portal, please click on this link for detailed instructions and a help line should you run into any issues. We appreciate your patience during PfISD’s transition to digital process.
Sincerely,
Cat Drago, BSN, RN
