Fenton Marching Bison Band 2021

Everything you need to know about joining the Marching Band!

Dear Prospective Parents, Guardians, Students, and Families!

What a bizarre year 2020-2021 has been!

Even though things look and feel different this fall at Fenton, we are proceeding with plans to be in person in the fall! Hybrid learning is moving along and our Jazz Bands and "Band Club" are meeting in person along with our Pit Orchestra for the musical! These are all great signs. All of this hard work now sets the stage to a transition back into the band room, concert stage, and marching band field!

Parents and students, please check out the documents and videos below that are tailored just for you as you consider your choices within the Fenton Band Program.

I look forward to visiting with you either in person or virtually sometime soon. As always, I am just an email or office hours appointment away.

How do I sign up for Marching Band?

Please click on this link for the Marching Bison Band commitment form. There is both a paper form and a digital form included on this link.

Drumline Auditions

All percussionists participating in Marching Band will need to demonstrate their percussion skills to Mr. Collins, our percussion instructor. While we have traditionally called these "Drumline Auditions," these tryouts are really just informal assessments for us to see how to move forward with our percussion parts for the season.

Please click on this folder to access the "how to" video, music, and recordings. These auditions will take place May 25-27 at Fenton.

Band Frequently Asked Questions

In Closing...

Again, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have. Your current band directors and I work closely together to ensure a seamless transition from middle school to high school. They are all very knowledgeable about what happens next for their student musicians, so don't be afraid to tap on them as resources.

Remember, you ARE good enough to be in the Marching Bison Band!

Musically yours,

Garett George
