Week 21
Week 21 Notes
This week, we opened our doors on Wednesday and Thursday for conferences. While the conferences were by request only, I was thankful that it appeared we had a steady stream of parents coming in to see their son's or daughter's teacher. Please note that while we designate specific dates throughout the year for conferences, those are not the only times that we are willing to meet. Any time you have a question or concern and would like to meet with our staff, we are willing to do it!
Question of the Week
This week, I encourage you to check back in with your child now that we've had conferences. You might ask your son or daughter "What do you think your teachers mentioned as your strengths?" or "What were the common themes your teachers talked about when we met with them?" Hopefully, your son or daughter can accurately predict what you talked with teachers about. Thank you all for stopping in the building for conferences!

HUHS Showcase - Freshman Registration Meeting
If you are an 8th grade parent, this meeting is incredibly important! Please plan to attend.
I also highly encourage all RMS parents and students to attend the high school. It may seem as though high school is far from but it will be here before you know it. The most often you can get your child into the high school, the easier the transition will be.
HUHS Registration Timeline and Key Points
- In the very near future, parents of future HUHS Freshman will receive an email that includes instructions for registering and selecting courses. HUHS uses the same student information system (Skyward) that we do, so the current email address you use to receive communication from our school is the one to monitor.
- Parents may begin enrolling children to HUHS on January 13th using the Skyward system. Enrollment refers to inputting residency, immunization, family and student information. This date does not include course registration.
- On February 3rd, from 5:30 - 6:00 PM, HUHS will host a registration meeting for all incoming Freshman and their families. This is a very important meeting to attend.
- Following the February 3rd registration meeting, the high school will host its annual Showcase Night. This is a great opportunity to tour the school, check out the courses that are available and get familiar with the clubs and athletics students can join. I highly recommend attending the Showcase Night.
- In past years, HUHS counselors took a separate trip out to RMS to assist with course registration. There will be no registration meetings at RMS this year.
As you prepare and register for classes, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Restivo, Mrs. Kastner or me. While we don't have direct knowledge of all of the inner workings of registration, we've done this before and can certainly help out.
Skylert EMERGENCY Alerts
Lost & Found is Overflowing!
Students should keep their belongings in their locker, not underneath whenever possible. The exception are their snow boots or after-school athletic bags, which can be kept on the boot trays. Coats and boots should be worn/taken home every night and not left at school.
Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the term.
Raider Madness - February 14th - Parents Invited
All students are encouraged to dress in red and black. We would love to see as much spirit wear as possible! Parents are invited to join in.
Friess Lake 4th Graders will be bused over for the event.
Join the Raider Community Band
Here is a chance for you to get back to that instrument you may not have touched in years, make music with other parents and community members, school staff, and your kids!
We will rehearse in the Richfield Middle School Band Room on Tuesdays after school from 3:45 to 5:00 PM, starting on Feb. 4. If you need to rent an instrument, or if yours needs repair, you can contact one of the White Houses of Music (Germantown, West Bend), among other stores.
No pressure! Just come and try it!
All band and orchestra instruments welcome!
Hope to see you there!
