On the Go Week 5: God Is My Defender!
This week we're teaching kids, "God is My Defender."
There are several names of God that show us that he is our defender. One of those is that God is our refuge or fortress. He is a safe place in times of trouble. He takes care of us and protects us. This brings up the reminder that we find safety in Him. Over & over again are images of Him bringing rest to a city or Him being a fortress or strong-tower to communicate that we as His people have security in Him.
This is who He is for us! It is also a name that we get to call on Him for. Psalm 11:1 says, "I have taken refuge in the Lord." That word refuge is chacah which means to flee to for protection, to put your trust in, to confide in, or to hope in.
As you're you're asking the Lord how He wants to be a defender for you, maybe he's inviting you into some form of action- running to him, trusting him in a new way, confiding in him, hoping in what He has for you.
