The Panther Post

The BCHS Bi-weekly Newsletter - August 24, 2018

From the desk of Mrs. Wieland:

Hello Panthers!

I truly hope you enjoyed your summer and are excited to return to school. We are off to an incredible start to year 3 at BCHS! It is wonderful to have our hallways filled with laughter, chatter, and genuine excitement to see friends and staff.

Burleson Collegiate continues to expand and grow. You met our amazing staff in our last newsletter. We have added another grade level of students, an assistant principal, several new teachers, and have several new Hill College instructors on campus throughout the week.

Our students have done an amazing job of learning their schedules, adjusting to changes, and getting into the swing of the year. Students have received their Chromebooks and signed up for lockers. We are working hard to increase our communication with students and staff. If you do not already, please follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

It is going to be an amazing year of learning and making memories at BCHS. This year I challenge our students to commit to excellence in their academic endeavors. This will set them on course for success. #Navigatingtosuccess

Meet More of the Staff of BCHS

Mr. Chase - Paraprofessional

My aim is to be a full time History teacher - after I finish my last couple of semesters of college! My hope is to bring a light into the classroom, embracing a Positive Mental Attitude, if you would, to each student that I will be lucky enough to teach. History and English are my passions and the subjects that I find quite exciting. From our past and our peoples come very interesting ideas, stories and fascinating learning opportunities! When I'm not studying for class, I play video games from the "classics" to the newest thing. And if it isn't sweltering out, I like getting some fresh air and a dose of nature. Overall, I simply want to create a space where students can be free learn what interests them while still providing good learning objectives.

Attendance is vital to success!

Attendance is important! Students at BCHS cannot afford to miss time at school, especially in their college classes. Students should be present at school, unless they are ill. If students are ill, parents should notify the front office and send a written note or doctor's note with their child when he/she returns.
