SENIORS: COLLEGE MID YEAR GRADE REQUESTS
As we approach the end of marking period 2, some colleges may request mid-year grades.
Some colleges will request mid-year grades. Continue to check your email and college portals regularly as well as each college's application requirements.
Mid-year grades are NOT automatically sent. We will only send mid-year grades to the colleges you request via this Mid-Year Grades Request Google Form.
You must submit a Mid-Year Grades Request Google Form for each college you would like us to send mid-year grades to. Mid-year grades will be submitted via Naviance. If your school is requesting that they be sent another way, such as via email or fax, you must include that information in the counselor notes section of this google form.
Mid-year grades will be sent to colleges the first week of February, once marking period 2 grades are posted.
Save the Date: College & Career Fair!
Students and their parents may visit with various representatives from colleges, universities, technical schools, and the military.

Monitoring Grades & Summer Extension
Last summer SHS was able to offer Summer Extension Program for students who were unable to meet course requirements due to attendance or academic concerns deriving from the pandemic. To avoid confusion amongst students and their families, we must be clear that there is no plan to offer this program again, barring another major pandemic disruption/school closure and a state mandate. Students' final grades and attendance records will be used to determine the earning of course credit and their ability to graduate on time. Please have this important discussion with your child, and if you have any questions, please call the school counseling or main office. We appreciate your support and ongoing partnership.

Middle States Accreditation
Each month, we will provide you with a brief update on where we are in the process. As always if you are interested in getting involved in the process, please do not hesitate to reach out!
This Month's Update: Our Planning Team and our Faculty/Staff held several meetings to discuss and craft our school's core beliefs & profile of graduates. Our core beliefs represent the things that we hold true about students and learning - the "non-negotiables" that determine the culture of our school building and guide our decision making. The "profile of graduates" represents the skills and qualities that we would like every student to have upon graduating from Spotswood High School.
Athletics Info
For athletics information, including eligibility guidelines, physical packets, and updated schedules, please see the Athletics Website.
Reminders from the Nurse
Please remember if your child has any medical conditions, the school nurse should be aware. There are forms for asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and permission to administer medications on the Nurse's Corner under Parent Resources on the SHS school website. Students are not permitted to carry medications in school, and they must be left in the nurse's office unless permission is granted by the physician in cases of asthma and diabetes.
COVID Guidelines
At this time, the following COVID guidelines and protocols will be in place:
- Per the Governor’s Office, NJ Department of Health, and NJ Department of Education, all students must wear a mask to school. Exceptions will be made when students are eating, playing musical instruments, engaged in strenuous activities, or are outside in extreme heat.
- The school will continue to contact trace positive cases. In the event that your child is identified as having been a close contact of a COVID+ individual, they must provide proof of full vaccination or quarantine.
- There will be no temperature checks or COVID screening forms required for entry.
- Regardless of exposure, students who are exhibiting COVID symptoms should stay home from school! Please remember to call the attendance office to report the absence and Mr. Mastroserio or Ms. Avallone will follow up with further instructions.
- We will make every reasonable effort to keep students spread out in their classes, whenever possible.
- Students will have continued access to soap, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes.
- Lockers will be available to all students, two way hallways have been restored, and water bottle filling stations will be available.
Additional information regarding COVID protocols can be found on the district “Quick Links” page. Please be aware that should these COVID guidelines change, this will be communicated.
